UPDATE [4:30 p.m.]: According to Austin-Travis Co. EMS, the man in his 60s was driving a truck when he experienced a medical issue, causing him to collide with a Capital Metro bus. 

The identity of the man has not yet been released nor has his condition.

ORIGINAL STORY

AUSTIN, Texas  — A man in his 60s* was involved in an accident South Austin, according to Austin-Travis Co. EMS.

Officials were called to the scene around 2:50 p.m. of the 6900 block of Manchaca Road at Ben White Boulevard. After arriving, the man was transported to South Austin Hospital with critical life-threatening medical condition, per ATCEMS. 

Austin police onscene temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of Manchaca, but have since reopened them. 

*Originally, officials reported the accident as an auto vs. pedestrian, but later corrected after assessing the scene.
