SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio residence was raided and a man arrested for being in possession of significant amounts of illegal drugs and firearms.
According to Bexar County Sheriff's Office, Jimmy Zavala Jr. was arrested on Monday evening after a lengthy narcotics investigation.
Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, narcotics and K9 units, along with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration carried out a narcotics search warrant at approximately 7 p.m. in the 3900 block of Bay Street on the southwest side of San Antonio.
During the search of the single family residence, police located/seized:
- 4.3 kilos (4,370.7 grams) of heroin
- 5.6 kilos (5,619.8 grams) of methamphetamine
- 239.3 grams of cocaine
- 20.3 grams of crack cocaine were found and seized
Also located in the residence were 7 firearms to include one that had two extended round magazines and U.S. currency.
Law enforcement on scene seized three vehicles that Zavala has been known to transport illegal narcotics in.
If broken down for street sales here in Bexar County, the narcotics would have an approximate street value of $1 million, police said.
Zavala Jr. is currently being held in the GEO facility awaiting arraignment on federal narcotic and weapons charges. He was taken into custody outside his residence without incident.
