AUSTIN, Texas – A local musician who was killed in a North Austin crash on March 13 has been identified.

Jack Krupski, 50, was driving his red 1981 Chevrolet Corvette when police said he veered for an unknown reason in the 500 block of Howard Lane around 4:31 p.m.

The Corvette hit a curb and then slid across the median. Krupski’s car then slid into the roadway perpendicular to oncoming eastbound traffic.

Another vehicle collided with Krupski’s vehicle, hitting the passenger side.

Krupski was transported to Round Rock Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Police are still investigating this case and ask anyone with information to call the Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8544.

This was the 12th fatal crash in Austin so far this year.

According to Metro West Daily News obituaries, Krupski played bass in a band he formed with some friends they named Chop Shop. He was also the member of several local metal bands including Black Thorn Halo.
