SAN ANTONIO – After two package explosions in Austin killed a teenager and seriously injured two adults, San Antonio law enforcement is asking residents to be vigilant.
"I'm not saying we should be worried. I'm saying we should be 'cautious,"" said SAPD Chief William McManus.
The police department has been in close contact with San Antonio's FBI division as it assists the Austin Police Department and ATF investigate the exploding packages showing up at residences in Austin.
While there is no indication of similar attacks happening in San Antonio or Bexar County, McManus is asking residents to pay attention to any packages they may receive.
"If you're not expecting a package, and you're getting a random delivery – not necessarily from a company but a hand-delivered package, and you have absolutely no idea who it's from or why it's delivered to you, our advice is to do not open it," said McManus.
