TEMPLE, Texas ― A fire at a Temple McDonald's was caused by spontaneous combustion of improperly stored cleaning cloths, according to fire investigators.

On Thursday, Jan. 25, Temple firefighters responded to a fire at The McDonalds on 1601 West Adams. When they got there they observed light smoke coming from an open door at the rear of the building. Soon after, they located and extinguished a small fire in a storage room.

Fire damage was limited to contents in the storage room. Everyone in the restaurant safely evacuated and there were no injuries.  The restaurant was closed for a short time until cleanup was completed.
