AUSTIN, Texas – In an effort to increase security, the Frank Erwin Center is banning bags that are not clear.

Since Nov. 5 the clear bag policy has been in effect for all events, including Texas Athletics. Approved bags include clear 12-by-12 inch bags, 6-by-12 inch bags, and one gallon clear plastic bags.

Small clutch bags do not have to be clear, but they cannot be larger than 4.5-by-6.5 inches.

Prohibited bags include:

• Purses
• Diaper bags
• Camera cases
• Backpacks
• Fanny packs
• Printer pattern plastic bags
• Reusable grocery totes
• Mesh or straw bags
• Duffle bags
• Large totes

Anyone who arrives at the center with a prohibited bag will not be allowed entry with the bag. Ushers will ask attendees with prohibited bags to leave them in their car.
