Meteorology piqued Mary's interest at a very early age when she took shelter from a tornado while visiting her aunt and uncle in Cincinnati, Ohio. After that scary event, she became fascinated with the weather and wanted to be a meteorologist so she could warn the public about approaching storms, just as one did for her that night.

Mary joined the Time Warner Cable News Weather On The 1s Team in May 2011. Before moving to Texas, she worked as a Morning/Noon Meteorologist at WTVQ in Lexington, Kentucky, and as weekend meteorologist and weekday reporter for KEVN in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Mary obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, emphasis in Electronic Media, from Morehead State University and her Master of Science in Geoscience, emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

She’s been awarded 2014 TX AP Award — Best Weather Anchor, Honorable Mention for the 2011 KY AP Award — Best Weather Anchor and has been given the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval.

Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, Mary has studied and lived with all types of weather — She even chased storms during graduate school!  Her favorite time of year is the fall in Kentucky when the leaves are changing and the winter in Texas when the average high is 70 degrees.

In addition to working her dream job, Mary loves attending church, spending time with her husband Billy, playing with her dogs and doing anything active outside. She is very involved in the community and spends a lot of her time volunteering with the RuffTail Runners at Austin Pets Alive and the Austin Animal Center.
