BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Charter Communications along with the City of Buffalo announced the launch of Spectrum's new low cost internet services.

The new Spectrum Internet Assist program will provide high speed broadband for only $14.99 a month with no modem fees.

Families with children who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program as well as seniors 65 and older who receive Supplemental Security Income are eligible to apply for the service.

The program also partnered with Power My Learning to present the Delavan Grider Community Center with 10 new computers as well as a new smartboard.

"The internet provides a variety and a wealth of information for the community," Buffalo mayor Byron Brown said. "We know that there's a digital divide, that low income communities experience, not having access to the internet. And this announcement today that Spectrum Internet Assist is coming to the city of Buffalo will help to bridge the digital divide and make it easier for low income families to be able to afford fast Internet access and service."
