Jack Young will appear before State District Judge Camile DuBose for his arraignment today. Right now, he faces 28 felony charges — 13 manslaughter charges, 13 intoxication manslaughter charges and 1 intoxication assault and another for aggravated assault for the only survivor in the crash.
Court records revealed Jack Young was under the influence of different drugs at the time of the accident.
According to DPS, Young confessed he had taken anxiety drug clonazepam, generic forms of antidepressant Lexapro and the sedative Ambien. Another trooper found marijuana in the truck. Young's attorney, Rogelio Munoz says his client will plead “not guilty” to the charges.
The attorney also says he wants Young's $300,000 bond reduced. A bond hearing was scheduled for today but cancelled. Young's attorney is waiting for the rest of the case file from prosecutors before another bond will be scheduled.
