Kids in Corona channel their inner 'Bambino' as they enjoy baseball in what some say is its purest form.
Young sluggers from all over the borough played a game of pick up baseball Saturday.
It was a part of Sandlot Nation, a program by Oakland Athletics infielder Adam Rosales meant to encourage kids to play baseball just for for fun.
New York Met Jay Bruce also pitched in.
"Winning, losing doesn't matter. It's just getting out and playing baseball," said Rosales.
"Whether it was a baseball, tennis ball. We'd tape up styrofoam cups. It really didn't matter. And I think that teaches you about the love of the game," said Bruce.
And while there are no winners or losers in Sandlot baseball, one batter did hit it over the fence and into a car windshield.
No one was hurt.
