AUSTIN, Texas - As many as 300 people rallied to call on Congress to impeach President Donald Trump. One congressman in attendance at the Texas capital said he’s two steps ahead.
“In this country, no president is above the law. That’s why we’re here today,” says Rep. Al Green, D-Houston.
Protesters marched from the Capitol to city hall and back to the south steps led by Army veterans who say patriotism goes above party.
“Trump has been the biggest threat to the Constitution of the United States since, since history. This country is getting eaten up alive from the inside,” says Army veteran Zak Hail.

Among the crowd were those who approve of the job that Trump is doing. They celebrate how the tables have turned given that they once called for the impeachment of then-President Barack Obama.
“Although when that was going on we were regarded as rebels and anti-American because we were speaking out against the president,” says Bryan Resident Shannon Woolard.
The presence of pro-Trump protesters did not slow down those rallying for impeachment. Instead they supported everyone's right to peacefully assemble.
“I’m going protect their right even when they call me names, even when they threaten me,” says Green.
