Lake Ontario Waves Smashing into Protective Sand Dunes

JEFFERSON COUNTY,  N.Y. -- There is a stretch of about 17 miles along the eastern end of Lake Ontario that has natural sand dunes. Those dunes protect inland marsh areas for local wildlife at places like the Black Pond Wildlife Management Area.

But the water levels on the lake are so high, those dunes are getting hit by waves, so we went down by the water to see how they're holding up.
