School and district staff will be on hand to answer questions about the incident.
Austin Independent School District police reopened the case after the child's family questioned the way they handled the investigation.
AISD police began an investigation in early February, but closed it almost two weeks later.
In a statement, the department's chief says that investigation should have included the collection of relevant medical records.
The victim's family later contacted a local attorney who alerted the district attorney's office of the existence of those records.
The child's teacher has been placed on leave during that investigation.
