AUSTIN, Texas -- New Metro Rail cars made their way through town Wednesday.

The move shut down some streets, like Burnet Road and Research Blvd.

Some tree limbs were sacrificed to get the four new cars where they needed to be. The cars came all the way from Switzerland, landing in Galveston before they were trucked to Austin.

According to CapMetro, the cars will be unloaded Thursday morning and then start a five month test period, all part of efforts to increase MetroRail's capacity and frequency.
