SAN ANTONIO -- Accused drug dealers between Dallas, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley woke up to federal, state and local authorities serving arrest warrants to at least 15 individuals.
"I woke up at 6 o'clock to a loud bang," said south side resident Juan Carillo.
A unsealed federal indictment led to the arrests at 7 different locations along with six additional suspects in previous stings.
Carillo understood what was happening across the street from his house on Chalmers street near Zarzamora.
"I saw cars come up real quick. I saw them surrounding the house. I already knew it was going to be a raid," said the 17 year-old high school student.
Agents confiscated four cars and a motorcycle at the Calmers St. residence alone.
The entire bust netted 22 kilograms of methamphetamine, 4 killos of cocaine and $91,000 cash.
By email the Department of Justice tells us, they believe they dismantled a dangerous criminal organization with Mexico ties.
The Department of Justice reports the 9-month long investigation was conducted by the DEA, FBI, Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Customs and
Border Protection, United States Marshals Service, Bear County Sheriff’s Office, Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, San Antonio Police Department, Live Oak Police Department, Seguin Police Department, New Braunfels Police Department, and the Texas National Guard Counter Drug.
If convicted, the 15 suspects face up to 20 years in federal prison.
The teenager who watched the early morning bust unfold says, other drug dealers live closer than the federal agents realize.
"I hope that everybody realizes, this isn't the only house in the neighborhood."
