AUSTIN, Texas -- Investigators are still looking into the fire that brought down an Islamic center months before its grand opening.

The Islamic Center of Lake Travis burned to the ground early Saturday morning.

Since then, community leaders have been scrambling to organize reconstruction plans, working with local authorities to get to the bottom of how the fire started.

“The Council of American Islamic Relations, they’ve been working with us. They just released a press release saying they're monitoring the situation," said Lake Travis resident Shakeel Rashed.

Still, they said they're more determined than ever to finish the project.

"We still want to be here. This is the location that we chose before and we want to stay positive about that," said Rashed.

More than $25,000 have already been raised online for the center's reconstruction.
