AUSTIN, Texas — On Thursday, the Travis County registrar announced the exact number of registered voters was 732,340 which is 92.32 percent of the county’s eligible voters.

Early voting began Oct. 24 and ends on Friday, Nov. 4. Currently, more than 300,000 Travis Co. residents have already voted..

“What a great county we live in with so many of its citizens determined to fulfill their responsibility to register and vote. We are the star of Texas and one of the best in the nation for exercising our patriotic duty to our country and state by actively participating in democracy,” said Bruce Elfant, the county’s voter registrar, and tax assessor-collector.

Austin residents have one more day to participate in early voting. For more information about early voting in Central Texas, Elfant recommends everyone use the Voter Lookup on www.votetravis.com to check their registration status.

If any information on a voter status is incorrect, such as the misspelling of a name, voters are asked to call the Travis County Tax Office at (512) 854-9473 to have it fixed.
