AUSTIN, Texas - Progress Texas was at Senator Ted Cruz's Austin office Tuesday, and the group delivered empty chairs to shed light on the empty seats on Texas' federal courts.

There are 13 vacancies on the federal courts in Texas, as well as the vacant seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Cruz says he's been working on the issue and the group doesn't know how much work fulfilling those vacancies takes. But the group thinks they can help make a difference.

"Justice delayed is justice denied. People need access to their federal courts. And in order to have full access, they need full bench. So we urge Senator Cruz to act swiftly and fill the vacancies on Texas' federal courts,” said Phillip Martin of Progress Texas.

Other states also participated in the movement by demonstrating to their own state senators they want the vacancies filled.
