ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ontario County sheriff's deputies arrested a Florida man for repeated sexual assaults of children during a four year span.
57-year old Robert Ackerman of Winter Haven is charged with first degree criminal sexual act.
Investigators say starting in July of 2012, Ackerman had sexual contact with several children inside a Hopewell home as well as the sleeping quarters of his tractor trailer while parked in a location in the town.
Deputies say the abuse continued through this past August and Ackerman was arrested last month.
He was arraigned in Phelps Town Court and is in the county jail on a $250,000 cash bail.
