LOCKPORT, N.Y. -- Quincy Harper was leaving a party on Shawnee Road in Wheatfield, Niagara County, on Saturday night when he was hit by a car, along with two of the three people he left with.

Harper, who was 18 years old, died. Melanie Aronow, 18, of Amherst was also killed and another person was injured.

Quincy's family is left devastated.

"If I had a problem, he would help me solve it. If I had to get up and go to the bathroom, he would pick me up, he was so strong," said Forrest Harper, Quincy's father. "He just did so much for me. He was just a great kid, you know?"

"I just can't believe it happened to my brother. Like you would never expect it, even with all the tragedies and horrendous crimes that are happening on TV nowadays, you just never really stop and think that this could happen to one of my siblings or one of my relatives," said his brother, Forrest Harper III.

"I couldn't walk at all. He was there for my insulin shots. Everything possible that he could do, he did it for me. He had a heart of gold," said Quincy's father.

"He was loving, caring," said Forrest III. "He always liked to have a good time. If it wasn't a good time, he would always try to make it a good time."

Quincy attended Medina High School and his father says he was planning to get his diploma and enroll in computer training courses.

"I talked to a young lady who was going to set him up for classes with a teacher. That's what he was going to do and that's how he was going to get his completion, his GED, but he didn't get a chance to do that."

An online fundraiser has been set up for funeral expenses.

No charges have been filed against the driver at this point.
