CHARLOTTE—Demand for computer programmers is spurring a new industry.
A report from TEK Systems finds programming is the most in-demand tech skill for the fourth year in a row.
To meet that demand, coding bootcamps are popping in more places.
Andrew Jensen with Coder Foundry says they now have two locations in North Carolina, and they'd like to open a third.
“We're market driven. What we teach is entirely driven upon our market research. We spend all year long watching the market, evaluating jobs, looking for what the industry is looking for. The direction the industry goes is what we'll be providing,” he said.
Another study from coursereport.com says about two-thirds of code bootcamp students end up with jobs using their new skills.
They add the average student pays about $11,852 for a coding bootcamp.
