Saint Teresa School in Castleton Corners celebrated its 60th anniversary, Saturday.

Monsignor William Belford celebrated an alumni mass with Bishop John O'Hara and two nuns who were instrumental in starting the school back in 1955. While many catholic schools and churches have shuttered around Staten Island, Saint Teresa's is still going strong.

"It really is a school that serves people. And right now we're having a resurgence of enrollment and that really helps people, shows that people understand that good things are happening here," said Monsignor Belford.

"It's just a great feeling to know that my kids are in this school now and to see how far this school has come and all the wonderful things. Just to relive all the wonderful memories I have through my own children now," said Aja Eisenhardt, class of '92.

While many things have changed since the school first opened it's doors sixty years ago. Many say friendships and memories haven't. The Class of 1966 also celebrated its 50th anniversary, Saturday.
