Dueling robots built by RIT students will be competing on ABC's second season of "Battlebots."

They shoot fire, twist metal and literally crush their opponents on their way to victory. The students are one of 52 teams that plan to fly to Los Angeles in April to compete. They are also only one of four with college-aged students in the competition.

Right now, they are working on completing their robot and shipping it out west on Sunday.

"It definitely is a feather in our cap, a perfect resume builder. It's one of those things that it's a discussion, a conversation starter. We have a lot of hidden things up our sleeve and I can't exactly disclose it right now, but it will be quite interesting," said Lydia Yeckley, team captain.

Eleven episodes will be taped during 10 days. The first episode will air prime time on ABC in May.
