A native Texan and familiar face to Central Texas for more than a decade, Time Warner Cable News Meteorologist and Traffic Reporter Dan Robertson got his start in broadcast news behind the scenes as a member of a TV production crew in the late 1980s.

He moved on to hone his forecasting and severe weather coverage skills in the active East Texas region, where Dan received the National Weather Association Seal of Approval in 1991. In that time, Doppler radar and remote weather sensor networks did not yet exist.

His efforts to promote weather safety in the region were recognized with Special Service Awards from the National Weather Service in 1992 and again in 1994.

After moving back home to Austin in the mid-90s, Dan became one of the first weather anchors in television journalism to serve as a "computer correspondent," delivering updates via the fledgling Internet as a primary source of information for viewers.

Dan is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a minor in Earth Sciences.
