AUSTIN, Texas -- After weeks of planning, it all came down to a question, backed by a wave of love and support: "Will you marry me?" She said, "Yes!"

Multi-Media Journalist Chris Cybulski proposed to his girlfriend, fellow TWC News Reporter, Jess Mitchell, live on the air Tuesday morning.

Jess was reporting live from Zilker Park on the upcoming Austin City Limits Music Fesitval when Chris appeared to ask the big question.

Unbeknownst to her, the reporting assignment was staged by the newsroom to help Chris surprise Jess with his proposal.

Chris and Jess met four years ago at the news station in Austin.

Jess moved to Austin from New York City to become a reporter.

Chris, a Texas native, was a photographer and truck operator at the time.

They first teamed up doing morning live segments.

Chris' laid-back Southern attitude, and Jess' New York hustle, provided the yin and yang that brought the two together.

The work duo was eventually split up when Chris was promoted to a reporter position, and Jess began serving the Austin and San Antonio communities as an anchor, as well as a reporter with TWC News.

But their personal relationship continued to flourish, despite work schedules that often proved challenging.

When they're not on-air, Jess is very involved with the Drive-a-Senior program, where she volunteers her time driving the elderly to different appointments they may have.

Chris has been a mentor for high school boys for almost a decade through the Young Life program.

The two plan to get married in late spring of 2016.
