1. Judge blocks DOGE from accessing sensitive information at U.S. agencies
A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing people's private data at the Education Department, the Treasury Department and the Office of Personnel Management.
Led by the American Federation of Teachers, the plaintiffs allege Trump's administration violated federal privacy laws when it gave DOGE access to systems with personal information on tens of millions of Americans without their consent.
2. Trump says countries that buy Venezuelan oil will face 25% tariffs
President Donald Trump said Monday he would be placing a 25% tariff on all imports from any country that buys oil or gas from Venezuela as well as imposing new tariffs on the South American country itself.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said Venezuela has been "very hostile" to the U.S. and countries purchasing oil from it will be forced to pay the tariff on all their trade to the U.S. starting April 2.
3. Austin police find 'incendiary devices' at Tesla dealership
Police are investigating a incident at an Austin Tesla dealership where “incendiary devices” were discovered on Monday morning.
According to the Austin Police Department, at approximately 8:04 a.m., officers responded to calls of suspicious devices found at the Tesla dealership off of U.S. 183 in North Austin.
When they arrived, they found the devices and called the bomb squad to investigate. They determined they were incendiary devices and were taken into police custody without incident.
4. 4 arrested in shooting that killed 3 and hurt 15 at a park in Las Cruces, New Mexico
A 20-year-old man and three teens have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Friday night's shooting at a park in Las Cruces, New Mexico, that left three people dead and 15 others hurt, authorities said Sunday.
Tomas Rivas and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody Saturday and a second 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were arrested Sunday, according to a statement from the city of Las Cruces. Each could face a murder charge and additional charges were pending, the statement said.

Hailey Van Lith had a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists as the second-seeded Horned Frogs advanced past the second round for the first time, winning 85-70 over seventh-seeded Louisville on Sunday. Before winning twice at home when hosting for the first time, the Big 12 champion Horned Frogs hadn’t even made the NCAA field in 15 years — and last won a tourney game in 2006.
