Sophia Constantine is an award-winning anchor for Spectrum News 1 Ohio. She’s anchored Your Morning on Spectrum News 1 since the statewide station launched in 2018. Known for her excellence in broadcast journalism, Sophia was recently honored with the 2024 Best Anchor in Ohio award from the Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland Chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
Sophia has earned numerous SPJ awards in categories such as Best Sports Reporting, Best Business/Consumer Reporting, Best Criminal Justice Reporting, Best Feature Reporting and Best Health Care/Medical/Science Reporting. She also won an Associated Press Media Editors Award for Best Broadcast Writing and has received 10 EMMY nominations for Live Breaking News, Writing, Lifestyle News and Lifestyle Programming.
In addition to anchoring, Sophia has produced and hosted 30-minute news specials, including Policing the Police, which investigates police-related crime reporting and its broader implications, and Answering Robocalls, a deep dive into the deceptive strategies robocallers use to defraud consumers.
Sophia holds an Associate of Arts degree from the University of South Florida and both a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree from the University of North Texas.
Outside of the newsroom, Sophia and her husband enjoy crossfit, hot yoga and exploring the outdoors with their 12-year-old dog, Zeva.
