GREENVILLE, S.C. - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Downtown Greenville.

The 39th annual Festival of Trees starts this weekend. The event features 50 trees that have been decorated in unique ways by multiple schools and organizations in the area.

While some trees are just decorated by an organization, others are also sponsored by a separate group. The funds that are raised from these sponsors will have a mutual benefit in the upstate.

Organizers say the money will be used to establish graduate medical education programs at Bon Secours St Francis. This new program would enable more med students to stay in the upstate for their residency.

To view the trees, simply visit the Hyatt in downtown Greenville during open lobby hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The trees will be displayed through Christmas day.
