Syracuse men's basketball (11-16) is back in the Dome Wednesday for an ACC matchup against N.C. State (11-16).

The Orange have lost three straight and are coming off a loss against Pittsburgh where they lead by 11 early in the second half, but ended up losing by 11.

"I think Pitt, every time we didn't do a defensive assignment, they made us pay, that's what I thought was the difference in the second half," head coach Adrian Autry said after last week's loss.

The game against N.C. State will be Syracuse's first game back after a week-long break.

N.C. State is coming off a weekend win against Wake Forest where freshman Paul McNeil scored 24 points in his first start. The Wolfpack are led by guard Marcus Hill who is averaging 12 points per game.

This is a big matchup as both teams are on the bubble for the ACC Tournament with the season winding down.

Syracuse is 5-11 in conference play, with N.C. State a game behind at 4-12. With a loss against N.C. State, the Orange could fall behind the Wolfpack and see their ACC Tournament hopes fade.

The bottom three teams in the conference do not qualify for the conference tournament next month.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Dome and will be shown on ESPNU.
