Syracuse is moving on to the next round of the 2025 D1 Women’s Lacrosse Championship tournament, while UAlbany and Army are going home.
In the first round on Friday, Syracuse defeated Brown, 15-9.
Emma Ward led the way with three goals and three assists; Emma Muchnick added a hat trick; and Ashlee Volpe and Mileena Cotter each had two goals. Eight different players scored for the Orange.
The Orange will face No. 7 seed Yale in the second round on Sunday, May 11, at 2 p.m.
The UAlbany Great Danes fell to the No. 7 Yale Bulldogs in the first round. UAlbany had previously won the America East Championship, securing its spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Army also fell in the first round to Penn, 16-6. The Black Knights finish the season with a 13-4 overall record.
In the loss, junior Brigid Duffy scored her 63rd and 64th goals, setting Army’s single-season goal record set by Jackie Brattan in 63 goals in 2019. Additionally, freshman Emma Hendry scored her first collegiate goal.
