The Syracuse Orange won their second consecutive conference game Saturday afternoon, beating the Boston College Eagles 79-71 at the Conte Forum in Boston.

After falling behind 54-46 with 8:51 to go the Orange went on a 22-6 run to take control. After scoring six points in the first half JJ Starling scored 20 of his game-high 26 in the second. Offensively Syracuse shot 57% from the field after halftime and had five players reach double figures. Kyle Cuffe hit two huge three-pointers down the stretch and Eddie Lampkin Jr. put up a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

"I just loved our team's composure," head coach Adrian Autry said after the game. "I thought down the stretch we made the plays we needed to make. We made foul shots, we got stops that we needed to get."

Free throw shooting has been a big issue for the Orange this season but in the second half Syracuse went 13-14 from the line. Eddie Lampkin Jr. went 4-6 and Lucas Taylor made five of his six attempts overall. After the Eagles took an eight point lead Syracuse outscored them 33-17 the rest of the way.

"That's what we talk about, playing for 40 minutes," Autry said postgame. "Not 22 or 32, I just thought we played for 40 minutes."

"We know basketball is a game of runs," J.J. Starling said postgame. "We just weathered the storm and stayed true to ourselves."

The win over Boston College marks Syracuse's first road win this season and improves the Orange to 8-8 (2-3 against ACC opponents). They return to the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday to take on the Lousiville Cardinals (12-5, 5-1 ACC). The Cardinals are third in the ACC standings and have won six in a row. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
