Niskayuna Police have made an arrest in connection with the Ayanna Hunter homicide.
They say Pierre Thompson has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but no one has been charged with causing Hunter's death yet.
The Schenectady County District Attorney said the case will be heard by a grand jury in the near future.
The 21-year-old Albany High School graduate was shot to death at the Hillcrest Village West apartment complex on Memorial Day.
The Schenectady County Sheriff says Thompson had been in custody since June 26.
