"There's a shortage of engineers throughout the country, throughout the world," said SRC CEO Paul Tremont.

If you're an engineer in needed of a job, Central New York needs you.

"We have to hire 300 new employees," said Tremont.

"We're hiring 200 engineers and we're really excited about this," said Lockheed Martin Senior Manager of Systems Engineering Aaron Luke.

Places like SRC and Lockheed Martin are looking to hire you. Both companies engineer material and technology for the military. For Lockheed, the need for more employees is because they are doing well, and need more hands to help.

"The second is that we've had a lot of retirement, especially in the baby boomers. And we thought this wave was coming for a while and now it's hitting us," said Luke.

Lockheed is looking to hire for two sites-- one in Syracuse, the other in Owego. SRC is looking to hire for other facilities but a majority of the new hires will be in Central New York.

"So I would imagine that over 200 of those employees that we're looking for, will be here located in Central New York," said Tremont.

"There's really not enough engineers to go around and that's a good thing because as a group we can bring engineers into Syracuse," said Luke.

Both companies are looking for all kinds of engineers like software, mechanical and technical.
