The Syracuse Academy of Science (SAS) building remains closed.
With Regents exams starting January 21, SAS says it's working with local authorities to try and reopen in time.
City officials say it is up to codes to decide when the school is safe and ready to open. All learning will continue to be remote until then.
The building has been closed since last week after Syracuse Fire Department officials say an improperly ventilated appliance in the school’s kitchen created high carbon monoxide levels. Several staff members were taken to the hospital with symptoms of CO poisoning.
That same morning, a man cleaning the school overnight was found dead in the cafeteria by school employees. The cause of death has yet to be announced by Syracuse Police and the medical examiner.
