After dealing with rounds of rain on Sunday courtesy of a passing cold front, it’ll dry out across Rochester and the Finger Lakes for tonight. However, colder air will continue to filter in behind that front with low temperatures in the upper 20s through the mid 30s.

There may still be some lingering clouds first thing Monday morning, but the sun will take control as the day progresses. Regardless of how much sunshine you mix in, temperatures will still be running below average for this time of year with highs just in the 40s and low 50s. At least it won’t be nearly as breezy for Monday to make it feel that much colder outside.

That drier weather will be brief though as a stronger cold front moves in early on Tuesday. Out ahead of that front, temperatures will max out in the 40s during the first half of Tuesday.

As that front draws near, the leading edge of precipitation will just come down as some rain while temperatures are still warm enough. That front will zip by, and temperatures will quickly fall back into the 30s by midday. Any lingering moisture to tap into will transition over to some snowflakes.

Not only that, but winds will be stronger for Tuesday, as well. Especially behind that front, gusts could exceed 35 mph, resulting in wind chills in the 20s and 30s.

Isolated snow showers will be possible for the second half of Tuesday into the start of Wednesday.

As Wednesday morning progresses, any lingering lake enhanced snow showers to the southeast of Lake Ontario will come to an end. Otherwise, Wednesday will be drier with some breaks of sunshine. Temperatures will stay cool though with highs just in the 40s, but at least the wind will settle down a little for Wednesday, as well.

The second half of the week will be warmer with high temperatures creeping back into the 50s, but it will be unsettled with some periodic rounds of rain.
