The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for much of our region from noon Friday through 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Heat Safety Tips:
Dress in light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
Stay hydrated with water and take breaks preferably in air-conditioned places.
If you don’t have A/C, hit up the malls or take in a movie if possible. Temps inside cars can become lethal within minutes.
A few hit and miss thundershowers will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening.
Temps come down for Sunday but it will still be uncomfortably warm and muggy with showers and storms looking likely.
Cooler and much less humid air will arrive on Monday and stick around throughout next week the way it looks right now with highs most days in the 70s.
