Rochester Gas & Electric and NYSEG say they've been busy preparing to deal with the aftermath of Tuesday's high winds, which the utility providers say could include downed trees, power lines and widespread power outages.
"Please stay away from downed wires," said Alexis Arnold, communications manager for RG&E/NYSEG. "If you see a downed wire, or any debris in your back yard, call 911, call RG&E. If you see any downed wires, make sure you keep your pets on a leash because we don't want any pets to get hurt as well."
The utility provider also recommends making sure your phones are charged and batteries are handy.
You can report and receive information on outages on the RG&E app.
