FAIRPORT, N.Y. — The reopening of the Fairport Lift Bridge is once again delayed.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) says materials have been delayed because of supply issues.

No exact date was given for the reopening, but officials say it will happen later this spring.

The historic bridge was closed to traffic in September of 2019 for rehabilitation.

It was originally set to reopen this past November.

Its closure has caused headaches for business owners in Fairport already struggling because of the pandemic.
