ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wednesday is a big day for the Rochester Fringe Festival. The full lineup of shows at this year's 12-day event has been released and tickets are on sale.

This year's festival will feature more than 120 free shows, including a special Fringe Finale at “The Five,” the city's empty lot formerly known as Parcel 5. There will be a mini music festival curated and headlined by Rochester band, Joywave. The event, "SMOKESTACKS,"  will take place on Saturday, September 25, from 4 – 10 p.m.

"Given the insanity of the past 18 months, we felt it was important to put on a concert that’s free for everyone. We all deserve a moment to breathe, and we can’t think of a better place to celebrate our community’s resilience,” said Joywave’s Daniel Armbruster. “We’ve had this SMOKESTACKS event idea for a while now and we are grateful to the Fringe for helping bring this idea to life.”

The big reveal took place at the Dawn Lipson Canalside Stage at the JCC Wednesday afternoon.

The schedule of events has been posted on the Fringe Festival website. You can buy tickets by clicking on a show and selecting a performance time.

This year's festival will be a mix of in-person and online events. Vaccinations are required for indoor performances.

The festival runs September 14 - 25.
