GREECE, N.Y. — One of the country’s leading all-star cheerleading centers has landed in the town of Greece in the newly updated Elm Ridge Center on W. Ridge Road.
Cheer Athletics has clinics, camps and programs for tumbling, dance and competitive cheer for boys and girls at its 30,000 ft2 facility. There are three full spring floors, a hard floor, foam block pit and trampolines to help young athletes develop tumbling skills to get them ready for cheer at school or competitions. Cheer Athletics has 12 all-star teams.
Co-owner Allison Violette started cheerleading when she was 9 years old. She knows that cheerleading can help build confidence, athleticism and relationships.
“I think just being with their teammates and their coaches makes them happy," Violette said. "All-star cheerleading is not just about the wins. It’s about the environment and our job is to help them have fun, make them laugh and forget about all the other things happening around the world. And if we compete, great!"
Mari Wilson just moved from Florida to the Rochester area. She’s already fitting in and flying high.
“I work on a lot of tumbling,” Wilson said. “I really like tumbling and all the people here are really nice and they are good friends to make.”
Cheer Athletics has 215 kids in its half-year and full-year cheer programs. It's located at 600 Elmridge Center Dr. off W. Ridge Road in Greece.
