Seneca Park Zoo will celebrate Cinco de Mayo in its own special way this year.

The zoo's Cinco de Rhino event is a two-day celebration this weekend, with the goal of raising awareness for rhino conservation.

On Saturday May 4, adults are invited to a rhino-themed craft beer and cider celebration. This 21+ event will feature tastings from over a dozen national breweries and cideries, live music, appetizers, a rhino keeper chat and more.

General admission is $35 in advance or $40 the day of the event (if available). A designated driver ticket is just $10. Portion of the proceeds will benefit the International Rhino Foundation to help protect the species worldwide. Zoo officials say the event is likely to sell out, but until that happens, tickets will be available online.

On Sunday May 5, the zoo will host their official Cinco de Rhino Conservation Awareness Day. It's a family friendly event, offering a variety of ways to learn about rhinos straight from their keeper, as well as biofact stations, crafts, games, and more. The special programing for this event is included with standard zoo admission.

So come out and celebrate Bill, Seneca Park Zoo's resident white rhino, and learn all about the species and what humans can do to protect them.
