ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester’s sports legends were honored this weekend as the annual Frontier Field Walk of Fame ceremony was held before Sunday’s game
One of Spectrum News 1’s own was also recognized.
“This year we will be inducting 16 new members from seven different categories into the Frontier Field Walk of Fame,” said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason said. “Our first and only media inductee is Bob Gosney. Bob has been a staple of the Rochester sports media spending over 30 years with Spectrum News.”
Gosney joined the elite group of athletes, coaches, administrators and others being honored. They are recognized for making a monumental impact on the community through their achievements in the Rochester sports scene.
The Red Wings celebrate by adding a brick to the Frontier Field Walk Fame with the name of each inductee. The bricks were then placed in Frontier Field’s Walk of Fame alongside the names of the inductees from previous years.
“It’s just great to share this day with all the other inductees and certainly applaud everything that they’ve contributed to the Rochester sports scene over all these years,” Gosney said. “You look at some of the people that have gone into this walk of fame, it’s just great to share this honor with all of them. There’s a lot of big names in Rochester sports, coaches, administrators [and] contributors. So it’s neat to share that with them.”
