The animal shelter on Verona Street is closed to the public due to COVID-19.

According to the Verona Street Animal Society's Facebook page, the shelter was closed on Thursday and will not reopen until June 20, due to several staff members contracting the virus. However, redemptions will be available by appointment.

Masks are mandatory for anyone entering the building.

The shelter says staff will still be able to walk the dogs.
