The New York State Police say a woman accused of killing three people in Virginia was taken into custody following a pursuit that ended in Steuben County.
Police say troopers from Troop A in Amity attempted to stop Alyssa Venable, 23, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, just after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday when she refused to comply and a pursuit began. Eventually, police say the chase entered Troop E territory, where the Steuben County Sheriff's Office joined state police in the pursuit.
According to authorities, they were able to stop the chase on I-86 by using a device to deflate the suspect's tires, causing the car to crash. Venable was taken into custody and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office says Venable is wanted on three counts of second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The New York State Police say extradition arrangements will be made with the sheriff's office in Virginia.
Police did not release any details about the alleged crime or the identities of the victims.
