Power has been restored to thousands of households in Brighton after a fire at a substation.
Rochester Gas & Electric says a faulty switch at the left nearly 4,000 customers without power on Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to the substation on Monroe Avenue Tuesday morning for a report of smoke.
The outage impacted traffic lights at multiple intersections, including the Twelve Corners in Brighton where a crash was attributed to the outage. The Brighton Police Department issued an alert to the community about the outage and a reminder to treat all intersections as a four-way stop while traffic lights were out.
