ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Timothy Granison, the estranged husband of former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, pleaded guilty on Monday to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. McGrath says Granison, 43, was a member of a drug trafficking organization led by Jason Siplin that distributed large quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine out of a house on Glenwood Avenue.
According to McGrath, Granison regularly obtained bulk quantities of cocaine from Siplin, which he then sold to his own customers.
Investigators say they intercepted telephone calls between Granison and co-conspirator Dkeidron Dublin on May 19, 2021.
During the calls, police say the two discussed Granison resupplying Dublin with cocaine sometime that afternoon. Shortly before 3:30 p.m., Granison was stopped on Birch Crescent, off of East Main Street in Rochester, after officers observed Granison pulling up to Dublin’s residence. Police say Dublin came out of the residence and got into Granison’s vehicle. Police then surrounded the vehicle and Granison and Dublin were taken into custody.
Police say 31 grams of cocaine and $1,241.00 in cash were recovered from the vehicle and Dublin’s residence.
That same day, a search warrant was executed at Warren's home on Woodman Park following Granison's arrest. During the search, police discovered two firearms, an unregistered handgun and a rifle. Granison and Warren were later charged with criminal possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child and failure to secure a firearm. They both pleaded not guilty in July.
Warren then resigned from office after accepting a plea deal last October; a deal which satisfied all charges from the gun and child endangerment case as well as a campaign fraud case against her.
Granison will be sentenced on Sept. 6 and faces up to 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine.
