ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police have released the names of the three children involved in a crash at Mt. Read Boulevard and Lyell Avenue. Two of them did not survive.

The crash happened when two cars collided in the intersection around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to RPD, Jadden Desue, 11, and Ja'vion Green-Rucker, 4, died from their injuries. Police say the third child, an 8-year-old who has not been identified, remains hospitalized in stable condition and has improved since being admitted.

The three children are siblings, according to police, and attend School 17 in the city of Rochester. The driver of the vehicle they were riding in is their mother. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 20s, was treated and released from the hospital. Police say he is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged with a crime.

Police say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation and authorities say they are working to determine whether any charges will be filed.

Marisol O. Ramos-Lopez, chief of communications & intergovernmental and community relations for the Rochester City School District released a statement:
