ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A detention hearing is set for Tuesday afternoon for a Rochester-area man accused of taking part in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol building.
Cody Mattice was arrested Thursday at his Hilton home by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He faces a number of charges, including assaulting, resisting or impeding Capitol Police, engaging in physical violence, disorderly conduct and three other charges.
Mattice is the second local man charged with allegedly taking part in the riot.
Dominic Pezzola, who was accused of stealing a riot shield from Capitol Police, breaking a window at the Capitol and being one of the first protesters inside, is also in custody.
