BRIGHTON, N.Y. — A little boy is in stable condition after being pulled from the bottom of a pool at a local hotel Tuesday night.
Brighton police were called to the Country Inn & Suites hotel on East Henrietta Road shortly after 8 p.m. for a possible drowning. They say a 5-year-old boy had been pulled from the bottom of the pool and was unresponsive.
Authorities say the child's mother had dropped him off for a pool party at the hotel. The person who was supposed to be supervising the child was not at the pool at the time of the incident.
The people who pulled the child out of the pool performed CPR until first responders arrived.
Police say the child regained consciousness and was talking at the hospital.
Brighton police are reminding everyone to make sure children are always supervised near water.
No charges have been filed at this time.
Police are looking into whether the child choked on food while in the pool or had almost drowned.
