GREECE, N.Y. — The Greece Police Department now has a new leader, after longtime Chief Patrick Phelan announced his retirement, effective December 31.

The Greece Town Board has appointed Deputy Chief Andrew "Drew" Forsythe to be sworn as the new chief.

Currently Greece PD's deputy chief of operations and special services, Forsythe previously served as the undersheriff of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Forsythe will be sworn in January 1.
